4/14 sfo -> bcn, bcn -> sqx

staying at hotel zaida

late dinner at a neighborhood tapas place

4/15 staying at hotel zaida

took tour bus of seville, walked around in the city (from bullfight arena to those chapels)

breakfast at a small cafe, lunch at a restaurant which was a rip-off, dinner near the main square of seville in another tapas place

because of the blocking of streets, it took us nearly two hours to get to our hotel (for a normally ten minutes walk)

4/16 train to cordoba, staying at hotel zaida

walked around cordoba, a really charming city

breakfast at train station, lunch by a side street near mesquita, dinner the best of spain trip!

took a taxi from train station to seville old town to make the flamenco show at the museum of flamenco

met procession head-on while walking to hotel, but we did better this time to cut across blocked streets to make it back

4/17 train to malaga, then bus to nerja, staying at hostal ana

brunch at train station,

bus at malaga bus station (which is right by the train station) turned out to park at a different stop than what we were told by the scheduled ticket

nerja is a small town, it took us like twenty minutes to find our hotels — not too bad

dinner along the street to the balcony of europe, a roman/italian restaurant, whose decorations are better than their food

walked around in the town after dinner, then heard processions passing my hotel around mid-night

4/18 staying at hostal ana

brunch at a sandwich place near balcony of europe

walked around the city more

took bus (1euro) to frigiliana, walked around frigiliana, and its craft streets (very good leather shop btw)

dinner at the place near the bus station, reading three-lives-three-worlds

stayed up until midnight to watch the midnight procession of nerja, a much more approachable experience than seville

4/19 bus to granada, staying at Macia Monasterio De Los Basilios

fruits for breakfast, asked directions from the ti booth to get to our hotel, since we cannot find it on internet

turned out bus 33 from bus station until it passes the river, and the hotel is really close to the station

came out for lunch at a fast food place after arriving then i went back to sleep a bit since getting up too early for the bus (and reading into late night)

then walked the main touristy places of granada, such a charming city, watched sunset in plaza nicholas over alhambra in albacin

we tried to get into alhambra since ann booked a 7pm ticket at 7pm. turned out she booked next month and besides we need three more hours.

dinner at an arabic place (food so-so but ambience great)

4/20 staying at Macia Monasterio De Los Basilios

ann heroicly got up at 6am and took a taxi to get to alhambra to buy the first-come-first-serve tickets and we finally made it by 1pm

brunch in a street-side cafe

walked up to alhmabra and walked around the palace for five hours? with a stay in “american cafe” to rest

dinner at a fast-pizza place

4/21 flight to bcn, staying at hotel catalonia barcelona plaza

breakfast at the airport of granada

lunch in a ramen place in the food court of the mall right next to our hotel, so bad!

i went back to sleep a bit and we met up in plaza catalonia and walked the entire la rambla to the marina

then we walked back the la rambla and ate in a vegetarian place — very good!

4/22 staying at hotel catalonia barcelona plaza

breakfast in mcdonald’s in the train station, while trying to get tickets to dali’s town, too expensive, give up

walked to montjuic after breakfast, visited fountains, art museum, the olympic site, then miro foundation

lunch inside the miro foundation museum

i went back to sleep and then came out to la rambla again

dinner in a pinco’s bar in la rambla

4/23 staying at hotel catalonia barcelona plaza

breakfast at a rif-off cafe on passig gracia

visit sagrada familia (had to book previous day online, but still have to line up at the door)

lunch at a chinese place while walking from sagrada familia to metro

walked around the marina area of barcelona, a very atheletic region

dinner at a fusion japanese place near marina — expensive and so so food

4/24 staying at hotel catalonia barcelona plaza

visit guell park (since we cannot do it last night because all tickets were sold out 6pm)

breakfast at the cafe inside guell park (expensive and so so food)

lunch at a vegetarian place in a hip street we discovered while walking from guell park to metro

dinner at a vegetarian place to the east of la rambla, near university of barcelona — very good! barcelona has good vegetarian food!

4/25 bcn -> sfo
