DOM element and JQuery object

Posted on: June 7, 2011

$(‘something’).get() will give you an array of the underlying selected DOM elements

some JQuery functions return DOM elements too such as $(‘something’).parent(), or parents()

if you have a DOM element, you can just do $(element) to get the JQuery object
