How to default to a numeric keyboard in iPhone app

Posted on: December 31, 2010

<input type=’number’ …> can do it.

It will be a full blown keyboard with a few /, etc. Not the telephone keypad if you use ‘tel’ as type.

You can also do <input type=’text’ pattern='[0-9]*’ … but it is the same as type=’tel’

The Safari guide for iPhone development did not record this at all.
