Another Jim Sheridan film. When I picked the movie from wait list, i never knew that i was having two Jim Sheridan films. But it just so happened. And next time i see a word like Irish, my sheridan alert is on 😉

This is about an Irish family that is trying to establish in New York. Rumors have it that this details the struggles and ordeals of the Sheridan family, which is probably true, given the screenplay is written by a bunch of Sheridan’s and the movie is dedicated to a real brother of Jim named Frankie.

The little girls are like angels. Especially the younger one. She has such an efferescent(?) personality that her smile can steal hearts. The older one looks like a classic beauty, even if she is only 10. Mom and dad put in great performances too. Sometimes the drama is too tense that i have to stay away from the screen. For example, when Dad was throwing baseballs at a theme park.

For some reason, I tend to like books/movies/songs about Ireland. For example, Angela’s Ashes, Frank McCourt, U2, Enya, Loreena McKennit. I cant explain why.
